About Qorsa

Qorsa builds AI platforms that turn scattered, unstructured information into trustworthy, explainable insight. Our flagship platform, AtlasAI, maps an organization's documents, spreadsheets, images, and geographic data into a living knowledge graph and uses a multi-agent system to generate comprehensive, source-cited reports on demand. No black-box answers: every finding traces back to its source.

That same architecture, paired with our post-quantum security layer, also powers federated intelligence-sharing deployments for allied government and defence partners, where each nation's data stays on its own sovereign infrastructure while still contributing to a shared, alliance-wide picture. We're growing the engineering team behind this technology and looking for a Principal Engineer to lead it.

The Role

As Principal Engineer, you'll set technical direction for the team building and scaling our knowledge graph, multi-agent, and NLP systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: architecting systems, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and working directly with enterprise and government stakeholders to turn hard requirements (data sovereignty, explainability, security) into shipped systems.

What You'll Do

  • Own the technical architecture and roadmap for our AI platform, spanning knowledge graph construction, multi-agent orchestration, NLP/entity resolution, and retrieval-augmented generation
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI/ML and platform engineers
  • Make engineering tradeoffs that balance capability with the security, auditability, and explainability requirements of regulated and defence-sector customers
  • Partner with product, security, and government/enterprise stakeholders to translate operational requirements into system design
  • Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, testing, review process, and documentation
  • Stay hands-on: this is a technical leadership role, not a purely managerial one

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including significant work with LLMs, NLP, or knowledge graph/RAG systems in production
  • 3+ years leading or mentoring engineering teams in a senior, staff, or principal capacity
  • Deep understanding of multi-agent system design, information retrieval, or distributed/federated architectures
  • A track record of shipping reliable, secure systems in a regulated or high-stakes environment
  • Strong communication skills, able to work directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including government partners
  • Canadian citizenship required, and must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance (Secret or higher) for work on allied defence programs

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cross-lingual NLP or semantic search
  • Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography or crypto-agile security architectures
  • Prior experience in defence, intelligence, or other classified/regulated environments
  • Experience with graph databases (e.g., Dgraph, Neo4j) or vector databases
